I began teaching myself guitar on a cheap acoustic in 1996, purchased a Fender Strat in '97, and began the carbon flaw in 2003 with the additional purchase of a Roland Fantom-S workstation keyboard and a laptop. Nine Inch Nails was the biggest influence at the time, but since then my vision and inspirations for the project have expanded. While the carbon flaw had a particular vibe and focus, I wanted to do something a bit out of the scope. Sometime in 2005 I started rouge~fire and machine fault red as more open and lively projects/experiments. TCF has been kind of dormant and uninspired for the past couple years, so the focus has shifted. I don't consider the music songs in a sense (or even music), but moreso sonic paintings - expressions more open to interpretation by the listener.
